Boy-Belo ceasefire
A mole reports that Vicki Belo wanted to apologize to Boy Abunda via a text message.
Alas, she didn’t have his current number, so she purportedly asked ABS-CBN exec Mariole Alberto to send the SMS for her.
Also, she left for a series of speaking engagements in the US. Is she hoping that, by the time she gets back, the fire would have died down?
Meanwhile, winner of that first round or barbs is ... Boy’s new ABS-CBN show “Showbiz News Ngayon,” where he gave his tearful rejoinder (“... the insinuation that I’m ugly is cruel”) Monday night.
Reach out, touch a friend
Piolo Pascual said he was utterly shocked when comic Ai Ai de las Alas grabbed his crotch onstage in the “Pop Icons” concert last week at the Big Dome.
(She pulled a similar stunt five years ago, during his debut concert.)
“After the show, Ms. Ai texted to say sorry,” Piolo said. “I hope people understand that she did it in the spirit of fun.”
Why drink milk?
As statistics go, Precious Lara Quigaman is the shortest Miss International title holder (2005) at 5’6”. Meaning, it wasn’t her height that dazzled the judges.
Now she’s an advocate of Bear Brand’s “Laki Sa Gatas” campaign. What’s her pitch?
“With proper nutrition and the habit of drinking milk, you can be a doctor, a teacher, anyone you want to be,” she told pupils of the Ligao East Elementary School in Bicol recently.
Ah, yes, we forget Ate Vi, main face of the campaign, who’s not even 5’6" but walks tall!

Seinfeld is back
LOS ANGELES—Jerry Seinfeld is to return to US television for the first time in 11 years as producer of “The Marriage Ref,” a reality show on NBC based on marriage disputes, reports said Thursday.
The series will feature celebrities, comedians and sports stars offering marital advice to troubled real-life couples. “This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,” said Seinfeld. AFP
